We don't have the cabinet layout for a traditional dishwasher, so we got this for our countertop. We have 10.5 inch plates and if you're good at following the instructions it comes with, it'll clean everything just fine. I got it refurbished for $185 shipping included, but I think it was sold that cheap because of a minor dent on the top which hasn't affected its performance because it was good as new on the inside. The water line is pressurized and will not flow endlessly if left unattended, so if you miss the 8 second long buzzer when the cycle ends, you'll be fine on your water bill. Speaking of the wash cycle, if you have a full heavy load the cycle will take about 1.5 hours. I've noticed the plastic nutts back off when the line becomes pressurized causing a leak sometimes so maybe adding some plumbers tape to it will secure them better because I hate to be bothered with checking it for leaks every single time I use it. Other than that, its a great buy and I'm happy with SPT's product.
